L e a h   L a r s o n

A native of Washington State, Leah grew up listening to many styles of music, but by 16, had a strong interest in playing and singing bluegrass and old-time traditional tunes. After starting out on the banjo, Leah later became attracted to the fiddle and joined her first band at 19, moving on to be part of Northwest based bands "Out of the Blue" and most recently "Frontline", chosen as an IBMA showcasing band in 2002. Leah has quieted many noisy crowds with powerful a cappella songs that demand attention, and often brings to stage her love of a cappella ballad singing, and a strong historical perspective along with solid and thoughtful fiddling rooted in bluegrass and fiddle tune styles.

"In my opinion, Leah Larson is one of the truly gifted, yet to be discovered vocalists who can sing it all. Major league talent...without question!" - Jimmy Gaudreau
